Rev. Boardman preaches in Boston.

The first Methodist sermon preached in Boston is delivered by Boardman, one of two ministers sent to America by John Wesley at the request of a small group of Methodists who had settled in New York. A Methodist society is formed at this time in in Boston, but is dissolved “for want of pastoral care.”
