Rowe (John) House is built.

Built for the Boston merchant, it is located on Bedford Street. Subsequent occupants include Judge William Prescott, who lives here with his son, the historian William Hickling Prescott, from 1817 until his death in 1844. The building is demolished in 1845, and the site is then subsequently occupied by one of the Jordan Marsh buildings.
