News of the Treaty of Paris is announced.

The signing of the treaty, which ends the French and Indian War (also known as the Seven Years War), is announced by Gov. Francis Bernard from the balcony of the Town House. The news is celebrated in Boston with the firing of a 21-gun salute, militia parades, and a dinner for 200 guests at Faneuil Hall.
