Albany Congress is held in New York.

June 19, 1754

Promoted by the Board of Trade in England, it is attended by representatives from the various colonies who discuss ways to improve cooperation. Thomas Hutchinson represents Massachusetts and Benjamin Franklin represents Pennsylvania. The two men lead a committee that drafts the Albany Plan of Union, a mutual aid agreement, which is subsequently rejected by Britain for potentially uniting the various colonies and by the colonies with interfering with their internal affairs in 1755.*
