Lewis Wharf is built.

(ca.) Originally Clark’s Wharf, it is located at today’s 28 Atlantic Avenue. Built by Thomas Clarke, the pier is purchased by Thomas Hancock and comes to be called Hancock’s Wharf in 1761 and is inherited by his nephew, John Hancock in 1764. Warehouses are added by 1840.*
