Thoreau (John) House is built.

[1720-Whitefield] It is located on Prince Street. It is purchased by John Thoreau, grandfather of Henry David Thoreau, shortly after his arrival from England in 1773. He lives here until moving to Concord in 1800 and the house continues to be owned by the family until the late 19th century.
