Bulfinch (Thomas) House is built.
1715
(ca.) Architect: Adino Bulfinch. It is located at 5 Bowdoin Square (then Bowling Green) near today’s 101 Cambridge Street. The double house is built for the two daughters of Boston merchant John Coleman, who are the wives of Dr. Thomas Bulfinch, grandfather of architect Charles Bulfinch, and of Peter Chardon. The house is subsequently purchased by merchant Joseph Coolidge, husband of the sister of Charles Bulfinch.
