Danforth (John) House is built.

1712

Built for Rev. John Danforth, the longtime minister of the First Church in Dorchester, it is located near today’s 278 Bowdoin Street. The building is converted into the Turk’s Head Tavern in 1732. Returned to residential use, it subsequently becomes the home of Judge David Cummins and his daughter Maria in the 19th century.
