William Blackstone marries Sarah Stevenson.

July 4, 1659

Governor John Endecott performs the ceremony. Blackstone had returned to Boston only long enough to sell the last six acres of his property and to marry the widow Stevenson, who lives at the time at today’s 19 Milk Street. Blackstone, his new wife, and her 16-year-old daughter then return to Rhode Island.
