Minot (George) House is built.
1640
(ca.) It is located on today’s Chickataubut Street. Although the exact date when the house is built is not known, Minot was one of the first settlers of the area. He dies at age 78 on December 24, 1671. The house is subsequently passed down to the eldest son of each generation. It burns down in November 1874, but the land remains in the family until the early 20th century.
