(Dec.) In his Journal, John Winthrop writes, “Some among us began to think of returning back to England. Others despairing of any more supply from thence, and yet not knowing how to live there if they should return, bent their minds wholly to removal to the south parts, supposing they should find better means of subsistence there, and for this end put off their estates here at very low rates.”
