Samuel Maverick settles on Noddles Island.

The Anglican minister builds a house near todays 225 Summer Street in 1634. Maverick begins to keep slaves here in 1638,* and is fined for sheltering adulterers on the island who had escaped from prison in 1641. He either returns to England in 1650 (BLC) or is forced to leave Boston for New Amsterdam and dies there (Sweetser).
