Massachusetts Bay Colony government structure is established.

(OS-5/9)] Meeting in Watertown, the General Court decides that the Governor, Deputy Governor, and Assistants, shall be chosen annually by the entire General Court, which is to made up of all freeman (church members with sufficient property). It further decides that, “there should be two from every plantation “to conferre with the Court about the raising of a publique stocke (taxes).” That body subsequently comes to be known as the House of Representatives.
