John Winthrop receives a grant of land.
September 6, 1631
The Court of Assistants grants Winthrop 600 acres of land on the Mystic River in what is today Charlestown, Somerville, and Medford. He subsequently builds a summer home on what he calls Ten Hills Farm. The property is purchased by Isaac Royal/ in 1732.
