March 8, 1631

In a letter to the Countess of Lincoln, Gov. Thomas Dudley subsequently describes, “so many flocks of doves, each flock containing many thousands and some so many that they obscured the light that it passeth credit . . . The flew from the north-east to the southwest but what it portends, I know not.”
