Adams (Ivers) is born in Ashburnham.

Ivers Adams arrives in Boston in 1857, goes into the carpeting business, marries Sarah Shepard, and lives at 10 Delle Avenue. Sometimes called “The Father of Professional Baseball in Boston.” he becomes the first president of the Boston Baseball Association and recruits brothers Harry and George Wright to lead the new Boston team in the new National Association in 1871.* Adams becomes a partner in the John H. Pray & Sons Company, and moves to a mansion at 98 Washington Street in Dorchester in 1872. He dies in Boston on October 10, 1914.
